More than 1 in 4 adults in the United States—over 70 million people—live with a disability. Another 63 million Americans are caregivers. (CDC)Sometimes temporal, sometimes long-term, sometimes you’ve just lived a full phased human life.Disability, aging, illness, injury, and caregiving are not rare exceptions to ordinary life. They are part of how families, workplaces, healthcare systems, and communities function. Yet too many people are still expected to navigate fragmented care, inaccessible environments, isolation, and preventable loss of independence alone.EdenLab is a disability-led research and design initiative creating practical new models for care, access, and connection.We work with disabled people, older adults, patients, caregivers, clinicians, families, and community partners to identify where care breaks down—and to develop early solutions that make daily life safer, more connected, and more possible.Because the people closest to a problem are essential to designing solutions that actually work, EdenLab is centered in disabled, aging, and care-experienced leadership.
